36th Annual Conference, November 9-11, 2011 – Sonoma
Fellow Researchers and Friends of Institutional Research:

The theme for the 2011 CAIR Conference is “Terroir: Assessing the Landscape of Higher Education in California”. Terroir is a French ‘loan word’ that refers to the soil, exposure, weather conditions, grapes, and wine-making knowledge that all contribute to the character of the wine grown in a particular region. The ongoing economic downturn and resultant budget concerns, calls for increased transparency and accountability on the part of state and federal government, and the major revision of the WASC handbook are some of the components of the terroir of institutional research in California today. This conference will showcase many outstanding presentations by colleagues representing all segments of California higher education. From networking with peers to plenary sessions by experts in the field, the Conference is the “must attend” event for seasoned and early career IR professionals. Please save the date for the 2011 CAIR conference that will take place at the Double Tree Hotel Sonoma Wine Country, in Rohnert Park.
